The New York University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to host Brandeis University in a University Athletic Association (UAA) matchup on Saturday, November 9, in Waltham, MA.
The game marked the regular-season finale for both teams.
Saturday's contest remained scoreless until the Judges' Will DeNight scored on an assist from Evan Glass at 63:50. Brandeis then doubled its lead when Noah Gans tallied at 77:24 on an assist from Jake Warren.
The Judges recorded a 14-7 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in shots on goal.
"We didn't score when we had chances in the first half," Head Coach Kim Wyant explained. "It's a disappointing loss, but we did have some strong individual performances, especially from Carter Altman (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough), who was the man of the match for us."
The Violets' Luca Mancuso (Miami, FL/Montverde Academy) went the distance in net for NYU, recording four saves.
Both teams finished the campaign with identical 3-3-1 UAA records. Overall, NYU is 7-7-2, while Brandeis is 10-5-4.
A potential postseason berth to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament will be announced on Monday.
