The New York University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Brandeis University in a University Athletic Association (UAA) matchup on Saturday, November 9, in Waltham, MA.
The Violets and Judges were locked 0-0 through the first 62 minutes of play in the regular-season finale for both teams. Brandeis' Daria Bakhtiari snapped the scoreless tie and scored the game-winning goal off of an assist from Caroline Swan at 62:55.
NYU goalkeeper Meghan Marhan (Glen Ridge, NJ/Glen Ridge) stopped seven of the eight shots she faced as the Violets were out-shot 17-11 overall and 9-3 in shots on goal.
Brandeis also posted a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Hadley Bushala (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) recorded two of the Violets' three shots on goal, with Nikki Lee (Hillsborough, CA/Crystal Springs Uplands School) posting the third.
Both NYU and Brandeis have completed the regular season with identical 11-7 overall records and 2-5 marks in UAA play.
