The New York University women's swimming & diving team, ranked #7 in the nation by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), fell to #3 Johns Hopkins University by a score of 176-86 on Saturday, November 23, at the Palladium Athletic Facility in Manhattan.

Standout performances for the Violets included senior Honore Collins' (Evanston, IL/Evanston Township) come-from-behind win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.63) and freshman Mari Yasumi's (Honolulu, HI/Henry J. Kaiser) victory in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.93).

NYU also placed second in the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 3:32.86, less than half a second behind Hopkins' winning relay.

"They've been working super hard this past week and we're going to start tapering down for our meet in two weeks," Head Coach Trevor Miele said. "I think we're in great shape moving forward."

The meet was swimmers-only, with divers competing at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Memorial Invitational in Kings Point, NY.

Next up for the Violets is the Bomber Invitational, which will be hosted by Ithaca College from Friday, December 6, to Sunday, December 8, in Ithaca, NY.
