Men's Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight

Violets Defeat St. John Fisher in Three Sets

The New York University men's volleyball team defeated United Volleyball Conference (UVC) foe St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, on Saturday, March 31.

The Violets (15-7, 5-4 UVC) handled the Cardinals (12-14, 1-8 UVC) in three sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-20).

After St. John Fisher tied the score at 9-9 in the first set, NYU took the lead 10-9 on an Evan Lindley kill and the Violets pulled away to take a one-set advantage. In the second set, NYU opened a 9-4 lead and never trailed as they took a 2-0 lead.

In the third set, the Violets again jumped out to a large advantage, taking a 15-8 lead. Although the Cardinals fought to bring the score back to 18-16, the Violets ultimately closed out the straight-set victory and earned the fourth seed in the upcoming UVC Tournament where they will take on #5 Elmira College in the first round.

After posting a game-high 21 kills in yesterday's UVC win over Nazareth, Alex Li again led all players with 13 kills.
