The New York University men's volleyball team defeated United Volleyball Conference (UVC) foe St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY, on Saturday, March 31.
The Violets (15-7, 5-4 UVC) handled the Cardinals (12-14, 1-8 UVC) in three sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-20).
After St. John Fisher tied the score at 9-9 in the first set, NYU took the lead 10-9 on an
Evan Lindley kill and the Violets pulled away to take a one-set advantage. In the second set, NYU opened a 9-4 lead and never trailed as they took a 2-0 lead.
In the third set, the Violets again jumped out to a large advantage, taking a 15-8 lead. Although the Cardinals fought to bring the score back to 18-16, the Violets ultimately closed out the straight-set victory and earned the fourth seed in the upcoming UVC Tournament where they will take on #5 Elmira College in the first round.
After posting a game-high 21 kills in
yesterday's UVC win over Nazareth,
Alex Li again led all players with 13 kills.

Ethan Talkov tallied six kills apiece.
- Zhu recorded a team-high six digs, while
Connor Keowen and Lindley contributed five each.

Matin Bikdeli and Ferraro registered game-high totals of 20 assists and three blocks, respectively.
The Violets return to action on Thursday, April 5, for their regular-season finale at Rutgers-Newark University, beginning at 7:00 PM.
