Women's Swimming Team Falls in Baltimore

Violets Defeated by Johns Hopkins 168-94

The New York University women's swimming team returned to the pool and was defeated by Johns Hopkins University 168-94 on Saturday, November 17, in Baltimore, MD.

The Violets (1-2) are currently ranked #6 by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), while the Blue Jays are ranked #4.

Terra Matsushima was a double-winner for the Violets, capturing the 100-yard freestyle (53.39) and the 100-yard butterfly (57.67).

"Terra had a great meet today, posting two very nice wins," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "She is set-up well to swim fast in the weeks ahead."

Honore Collins posted three second-place finishes for NYU, finishing as runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.92), the 100-yard breast (1:06.29) and the 200-yard IM (2:08.37).

Rachel Reistroffer posted a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:12.48).

The Violets return to action when they compete in the Kenyon College Invitational from Thursday, November 29-Saturday, December 1, in Gambier, OH.
