Women's Soccer Draws with Farmingdale State

Violets and Rams Play to a Scoreless Tie

The New York University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie with Farmingdale State College on Thursday, October 18, in Farmingdale, NY.

Both teams entered the matchup ranked in the NCAA's first Division III Regional Rankings with the Rams (12-3-2) coming in at #6 and the Violets (7-4-3) at #7.

Farmingdale out-shot the visitors 14-10 overall, but NYU had the edge (6-5) in shots on goal. The Violets' final shot came in the final minute of the second overtime, but Maddie Peña's attempt was denied by Rams' goalkeeper Daniella Ford.  

Meghan Marhan recorded five saves in posting her fifth shutout of the season for NYU, while Ford had six saves for Farmingdale.

NYU returns to action on Monday, October 22, when it hosts John Jay College in its final non-conference contest of the regular season. Kickoff is slated for 7pm at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
