COMPLETE RESULTS

The New York University men's swimming & diving team defeated host West Chester University 199-98 on Saturday, January 20, in West Chester, PA.

The meet was the second in as many days for the Violets, who swam at Williams College in Western Massachusetts on Friday and then bussed down to West Chester for Saturday's meet.

"We had great races in many events today," said Head Coach Trevor Miele. "It was impressive to see our men come through so well on such a short turnaround."

William Looney earned the first win of the day for the Violets as he was the first swimmer to complete the 1,000-yard freestyle, doing so in 9:50.10. The freshman also was the winner in the 200-yard breaststroke in 1:54.47.

Ian Rainey continued his impressive senior season with victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.77), 500-yard freestyle (4:43.79) and 200-yard IM (1:53.08).

Also winning multiple events for the Violets was Rainey's classmate Joe Baron, who won the 100-yard freestyle (47.38) and the 50-yard freestyle (21.19).

Tim Kou earned a win for the second consecutive day, as he was first in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.10).

On the diving boards, Connor Brisson once again swept the one-meter (306.83) and three-meter (343.79) dives.

The Violets return to the pool next Saturday when they host the University of Bridgeport at 1pm in the Palladium Athletic Facility Natatorium in Manhattan.
