The New York University baseball team was defeated 12-2 by New Jersey City University on Wednesday, May 3, in Jersey City, NJ.
NYU (19-13) scored the game's first run in the top of the first inning, but NJCU (18-18) answered with three runs in the home half of the inning and never looked back.
The Gothic Knights led 3-2 after two innings and scored three in the third inning and four in the fourth inning to go ahead 10-2. The hosts added a pair of runs in the sixth inning to make the final score 12-2.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Coltrane Tait led NYU with a pair of hits. The freshman's batting average is up to .327 this season.

Trevor Francesconi recorded the squad's lone RBI of the afternoon.

Ford Ladd each made their way around the bases to score a run. Walter now has a team-best 47 runs this season.

The Violets will continue their busy, 7-game week tomorrow when they take on Yeshiva University in a doubleheader. Game one is slated to begin at 3:30pm at Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park, NJ.
