The New York University men's volleyball team defeated Arcadia University on Sunday, March 5, in Glenside, PA.
The Violets (10-6), ranked #5 nationally by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, defeated the Knights (10-13) in straight sets (27-25, 25-17, 25-17).
Despite facing a 24-23 deficit, NYU was able to win a tight, back-and-forth first set 27-25. Leading by two points in the second set, the Violets closed out the set on a 9-3 run to win 25-17. In the third and final set, NYU jumped out to a 15-5 lead and held on for a 25-17 win to complete the sweep of Arcadia.

Jose Pina was able to coach despite suffering a painful back injury the night before.
"I probably slept an hour or two last night because of the pain. Today I had to coach standing because I couldn't really sit," explained Pina. "It was just a good bounce back for the team."

The Violets return to action on Saturday, March 11, when they take on Nazareth College and Vassar College in the UVC Crossover in Poughkeepsie, NY.
