The New York University men's basketball team was defeated by University Athletic Association (UAA) foe University of Rochester 101-58 on Friday evening, February 3, at the Sportsplex in Manhattan.
NYU (6-12, 1-7 UAA) was plagued by 16 turnovers and the Yellowjackets (18-1, 7-1 UAA) shot 58.1 percent from the field en route to the 43-point victory.
Fifth-ranked Rochester (
d3hoops.com poll) scored the first five points and led 28-8 with 9:32 remaining in the first half. The Yellowjackets never looked back and took a 27-point lead into halftime.
In the second half, the visitors picked up right where they left off and cruised to its largest margin of victory this season.
Sam Borst-Smith, who came into the game as the UAA's second-leading scorer, led four Yellowjackets in double figures with 18 points.
Ross Udine paced NYU with 15 points and a team-high four assists.
