The New York University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to host University of Rochester in University Athletic Association (UAA) action on Sunday, October 15, in Rochester, NY.
NYU dropped to 7-5-1 on the season and remains winless through four UAA games, while the Yellowjackets are now 9-2-2 overall and 3-1-0 in UAA play.
Rochester struck early, scoring their first goal in the ninth minute as Bryce Ikeda knocked in a rebound that was initally shot by Geoffrey Rouin.
The Yellowjackets doubled their lead midway through the second half when Alex Di Perna scored on a penalty kick. It was his fourth goal of the season.
Rochester outshot the Violets 11-7, with each squad recording three shots on goal.
Grant Engel made one save for NYU, while the Yellowjackets goalkeeper, Redd Brown, made a pair of saves. Rochester was also awarded a team save for blocking a shot that was bound for the back of the goal.
Maxi Rodriguez led the NYU offense with two shots.
The Violets return to action next Saturday, October 21, when they travel to the Bronx to take on Lehman College. Kickoff against the host Lightening is slated for 3:00pm.
