The New York University men's soccer team lost 2-0 to Manhattanville College on Saturday, September 3, at GoValiants.com Field in Purchase, NY.
Omar Parra opened the scoring at 26:09 with a header from the right side of the box. Oskar Martinson doubled the Valiant lead at 68:14 after recieving a through ball from teammate Nicholas Capri.
"Two defensive errors created chances for Manhattanville, which they finished," said NYU Head Coach
Kim Wyant. "We still had 23 minutes to play after the second goal and we fought hard to the last whistle."
HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Violets were outshot 16-11 and recorded four shots on goal to Manhattanville's 11.
"We had three great opportunities in the first half that were near misses or hit softly and directly at the goalkeeper. We needed to do better in the final third," continued Wyant. "We are disappointed because it was a winnable game, but we feel good about our performance. We have a lot to build on."
