The New York University volleyball team defeated host Brooklyn College in straight sets on Tuesday, September 13, at the West Quad Center in Brooklyn.
NYU improved to 6-3 with the victory and has now won six of its last seven matches, while the Bulldogs dropped to 0-6.
"I'm happy with the way we played today," said NYU Head Coach
Jolie Ward. "We were able to test out different lineups and use all of our players."
The Violets got off to a quick start, rolling to a 25-13 victory in the opening set. In the second set, NYU scored 15 of the first 17 points and won the frame 25-14. The final set saw the Violets jump out to an 11-1 lead en route to a 25-2 win to clinch their fifth straight-set victory of the season. NYU recorded 10 kills in 15 attempts in the third set and did not make an error (.667).

- The Violets finished the three-set match with a season-high 13 service aces.
"We are starting to play with a great deal of confidence," added Ward. "This is important as we head into conference play in the coming weeks."
NYU will be back in action Friday, September 16, when the Violets cross the Hudson River for the Ducks Classic, hosted by the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. The Violets will take on SUNY Oneonta Friday at 6pm, before taking on Hartwick College (11am) and SUNY Oswego (3pm) on Saturday.
