Men's Volleyball Drops Road Match at #8 Vassar

#13 Violets Fall in Non-Conference Match in Poughkeepsie, NY

The New York University men's volleyball team, ranked #13 by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), fell in three sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-18) to #8 Vassar College on Thursday night, March 31, in a non-conference match in Poughkeepsie, NY.

"Vassar had an excellent serving match tonight," said NYU Head Coach Jose Pina. "As a result, our offense did not get going and we became predictable. We came down a bit after a good match against a tough Rutgers-Newark team on Tuesday, so we will work hard to get back on track tomorrow."

Against the Brewers (22-6), the Violets (12-13) were led by Chase Klein. The junior outside hitter finished with team-high totals in kills (6), digs (7) and service aces (2), and tied the team high in total blocks (2).

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Andrew Zhu and Chase Corbett each notched four kills.

- Derrick Chiu and Patrick Merrick led NYU in assists with 11 and nine, respectively.

The Violets will return to the court tomorrow night, Friday, April 1, when they host Marymount University for Senior Day at the Brooklyn Athletic Facility in Brooklyn, NY.
