The New York University women's volleyball team split its two matches on the second day of competition at the Ducks Classic, which was held on Friday and Saturday, September 19-20, in Hoboken, NJ.
The Violets began the day with a three-set sweep (25-20, 33-31, 25-16) of the Arcadia University Knights (3-5).
Rayne Ellis helped lead the Violets to victory, totaling 13 kills for the match.
A strong match from
Brooke Tannahill (team highs of 17 digs and four service aces) also helped clinch the victory for NYU.
"Brooke performed consistently throughout the weekend in serve receive and was very strong overall defensively," Head Coach
Jolie Ward said.
NYU's second match was a 3-0 loss (25-22, 25-7, 25-18) to the Stockton University Ospreys (13-1).

The Violets are back in action at Baruch College on Saturday, September 26, at 11:00am. NYU will face host Baruch as well as Haverford College.
