The New York University baseball team dropped its first-ever University Athletic Association (UAA) match-up on Sunday, March 8, falling to #8 Emory University 10-0 in eight innings at Sanford Memorial Stadium in Sanford, FL.
Chase Denison made his second start of the season for the Violets (1-3, 0-1 UAA), going 4.0 innings against the Eagles (7-3, 1-0 UAA) and allowing four earned runs on eight hits.
"We just weren't successful with the oppoprutinities that they gave us today," said NYU Head Coach Dough Kimbler. "We had runners in scoring position six times, and came up empty all six times."
HIGHLIGHTS:- Outfielders
Michael Vokulich and
Jake Smith each went 1-for-4 at the plate for NYU. Smith also notched a stolen base, his third of the season.

David Wagner, batting seventh as the designated hitter, went 1-for-3.
"Tomorrow is another day, and we're looking forward to getting better every game," continued Kimbler.
The Violets will return to the field tomorrow morning against Brandeis University. First-pitch is scheduled for 11:00 am.
