The New York University men's soccer team completed its 2015 season with a 3-0 loss to Brandeis University in a University Athletic Association (UAA) game on Saturday, November 7, in Waltham, MA.
Brandeis (16-2-1, 6-1 UAA), ranked #5 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), took the lead at the 34:24 mark on a goal by Evan Jastremski.
The Violets (6-12, 1-6 UAA), despite being outshot 24-6 in the contest, stayed within striking distance until late in the game when the Judges scored goals at 82:51 and 85:28 to clinch the victory.
Petter Aasa recorded the Violets' only shot on goal, while
Bryan Walsh led the team with three shots overall.
"We settled down as we got into the second half, which was giving us opportunities to equalize," said NYU Head Coach
Kim Wyant. "Lucas made some critical saves to keep the game close for 82 minutes. We were not able to generate enough quality chances and we went to three defenders with eight minutes remaining, which the other team took advantage of."
