The New York University wrestling team went 3-0 at the Metro vs. PA Duals, which was hosted by King's College in Wilkes-Barre PA, on Saturday, November 14.

The grapplers began the day with a 32-9 victory over the University of Scranton and followed that up with wins over King's College (37-7) and Elizabethtown College (30-11).

"Going in, we expected to win all three duals and we did," said Senior Assistant Coach Corey Luce. "Our guys wrestled tough, and I feel that we made major improvements from last week."

The squad was led by senior captain Dylan Lojac, and juniors Nathan Pike, John Messinger and William Gockel-Figge. All four wrestlers went undefeated on the day.

"The goal is always to get better every single weekend," said Luce. "After this weekend, I feel we are heading in the right direction."

HIGHLIGHTS:

 - Pike, the reigning University Athletic Association (UAA) and Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week, went 3-0 at 133 pounds with two technical falls and a pin.

- Lojac won all three of his matches at 165 pounds.

- Messinger also went 3-0, including a pin against his opponent from King's.

- Gockel-Figge won all three of his matches at 184 pounds.

The NYU wrestlers will return to the mat next Sunday, November 22, at the New York State Collegiate Championships hosted by Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
