Men's Soccer Defeated in Rochester

Violets Fall 2-0 to Yellowjackets

The New York University men's soccer team lost to the University of Rochester 2-0 in a University Athletic Association (UAA) game on Friday, October 30, in Rochester, NY.

The Violets (5-11, 0-5 UAA) were outshot by the Yellowjackets (6-3-5, 1-1-3) 14-7 overall and 8-1 in shots on goal.

The game remained scoreless for over 62 minutes before Rochester scored two goals within five minutes to secure the victory. The Yellowjacket goals were scored by Jeffrey Fafinski at 62:37 and Andrew Greenway at 67:05.

Violets' goalkeeper Lucas Doucette recorded six saves in the contest.

"It took us a while to adjust to the slickness and pace of the field," said NYU Head Coach Kim Wyant. "They pressed us quickly when we had the ball and the combination made it hard to get into a rhythm."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Bryan Walsh had a team-high four shots for NYU, recording the team's only shot on goal.

- Redd Brown made the only save in net for Rochester.

" I am very proud of the way the team fought to the very end," Wyant said.

The Violets are back in action this Sunday, November 1, when they face Emory University at 1:30 pm in Atlanta, GA.
