The New York Univerity men's basketball team dropped a 77-64 decision to host Case Western Reserve University in a University Athletic Association (UAA) game on Friday night, January 16, at the Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland, OH.
The Violets (9-4, 0-2 UAA) trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half and never led in the game.
However, when
Iyoha Agho hit his fourth three-pointer with 37 seconds remaining in the contest, the Violets pulled to within seven, 71-64.
That was as close as NYU would get, however, as Case Western Reserve (11-2, 2-0) then went 6-6 from the foul line the rest of the way to clinch the victory.
HIGHLIGHTS:
-
Evan Kupferberg led NYU with 16 points and nine rebounds.
- Agho finished with a season-high 12 points.
-
Ross Udine and
Hakeem Harris also scored 12 points. Harris also added four steals.
NYU will be back in action on Sunday, January 18, in Pittsburgh, PA. The Violets are scheduled to tip-off against Carnegie Mellon University at 12:00 pm.
