Bowdoin Box ScoreUMass Boston Box ScoreDespite a spirited comeback, the New York University women's volleyball team dropped a five-set match to Bowdoin College then fell 3-0 to UMass Boston on the second and final day of competition at the Endicott Invitational in Beverly, MA, on Saturday, September 6.
In the first match, Bowdoin (3-0) captured the first two sets (25-21, 25-16). The Violets (4-4) mounted a comeback and took the next two sets (25-21, 29-27), However, NYU could not sustain the momentum and dropped the final set 15-12.
"Despite the loss, our team showed a lot of character after being down 2-0," Head Coach Jolie Ward said. "We fought back and nearly came away with the win."
The match again UMass Boston (5-3) was tightly-contested, though NYU fell in three sets (27-25, 25-22, 25-18).
BOWDOIN HIGHLIGHTS: "Zoe was on fire and played like a veteran on the court," Ward added.
For her efforts, Prince was named to the All-Tournament Team.
UMASS BOSTON HIGHLIGHTS:-
Josie Luck led the NYU with eight kills.
- Robinson had 16 assists.

MaTia Hughes again led the team in digs with 11.
"This weekend was about learning and being able to prepare for bigger teams in our conference," Ward explained. "Despite the outcome there was a lot of progression in the right direction."
The Violets return to action this Wednesday night at 6pm when they host Hunter College at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan.
