Classic HomepageThe New York University women's volleyball team is eager to repeat its title in this weekend's NYU Violet Classic at Coles Sports Center in Manhattan. The Violets (8-5) will welcome SUNY Oneonta, Sarah Lawrence College, SUNY Potsdam, Richard Stockton College and Western New England University for competition Friday-Saturday, September 19-20.
Action is set to begin on Friday at 4 pm as NYU will face SUNY Oneonta, followed by two 6 pm matches with NYU vs. Sarah Lawrence and SUNY Potsdam vs. Richard Stockton.
On Saturday, six matches are scheduled. Two courts will be used simultaneously with starting times of 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm.
NYU finished 3-0 in 2013 and was the lone team without a loss.
The Violets are coming off a 3-1 performance at last weekend's New Paltz Invitational where they won two straight-set matches and a close five-setter.
Gigi Morally leads the Violets with 101 total kills (2.15 k/set) while
MaTia Hughes has a team-best 246 total digs (5.59 digs/set).
