Fredonia Box ScoreNew Paltz Box Score The New York University women's volleyball team split in two matches on Saturday, September 13, at the New Paltz Invitational in New Paltz, NY. The Violets (8-5) defeated Fredonia State University, but then dropped a match to host New Paltz.
In the first match, NYU overcame a 2-1 deficit and won in five sets (18-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 15-10)). Having to get right back on the court, the Violets were unable to sustain the momentum and fell to New Paltz in three close sets (25-22, 25-22, 25-21).
NYU held the lead for the majority of the first two sets, but could not hold the advantage.
Fredonia Highlights-
Nicole Frias recorded lit up the front row with a career-high 15 kills for the Violets.

Emily Moore had a season-high 27 assists in the match

MaTia Hughes' 27 digs led the team
New Paltz Highlights- Frias again led the team with five kills.

Katie Robinson had a team-high 12 assists.
- Hughes had 26 digs from the back row
- Both Hughes and Robinson were named to the All-Tournament Team.

Jolie Ward. "She grounded the defense and was intense and focused the entire time.
Josie Luck also had an outstanding performance playing full rotation and providing leadership on the court."
NYU returns to action when they host the Violet Classic at the Coles Sports Center next Friday and Saturday, September 19-20.
