Box ScoreThe New York University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to host Kean University in their second game of the Cougar Classic in Union, NJ, on Saturday, August 30.
After defeating Richard Stockton College on Friday, the Violets fell short of compiling back-to-back victories at the Classic.
The Cougars (1-1) scored first in the contest when Jordyn Bronsky tallied from 50 yards out with 13:59 gone.
The Violets (1-1) tied the score on
Cami Crawford's shot into the upper right corner of the net off a cross from
Melissa Menta five minures later (18:49).
However, Kean's Shelby Pederson produced the winning goal on an assist from Emily Jurcsek at the 76:54 mark.
"This was a disappointing result because the team played well enough to get the win," said Head Coach
Michele Canning.

Cassie Steinberg went the whole way and made four saves.
- The Violets outshot the Cougars 23-9, forcing Kean's keeper KC Nunez to make nine saves.
