DJ Albonico of the New York University wrestling team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday, February 3.

The junior went 2-0 at 149 pounds on Saturday, February 1, as NYU earned victories against Centennial Conference rivals Gettysburg College and Muhlenberg College in Gettysburg, PA.

Albonico registered an 11-2 major decision victory against Che Chengsupanimit in the squad's win against Muhlenberg before earning a 6-1 decision over Brandon Carcuffe of Gettysburg.

This is the second time Albonico has been honored by the UAA in his career, as he also earned Athlete of the Week accolades last season.

The NYU grapplers will return to the mat on Wednesday, February 5, for a home dual against Yeshiva University at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan. Action is set to get underway at 7:00 pm.
