NYU 3 Baruch 1The New York University women's volleyball team defeated NYC-rival Baruch College 3-1 on the Beracats' homecourt in Manhattan on Thursday night, October 9.
NYU (16-8) took the first two sets 25-20 and 25-15, before Baruch (8-12) edged the Violets 27-25 in the third.
The Violets, however, rebounded quickly to take the final set 25-18.
Three Violets finished with double-digit kills, as NYU doubled Baruch's total, 60-30, hitting .236 to the Bearcats' .030.
"We had real intense play from our attackers tonight," said Head Coach
Jolie Ward.
HIGHLIGHTS:-
Josie Luck finished with a match-high 16 kills, while
Katie Robinson had 13 and
Nicole Frias added 12.
- Luck (17 digs) and Robinson (10 digs) each posted double-doubles.
"Josie had an all-around solid performance toinight," Ward added.

MaTia Hughes led the way with a match-high 22 digs.

Emily Moore contributed 23 assists and three service aces.
The Violets return to action next Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19, when they compete in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin #2 at the University of Chicago.
