UAA Round Robin Tournament PageThe New York University women's volleyball team took on the University of Chicago and Washington University of St. Louis on the first day of University Athletic Association (UAA) competition, hosted by Emory University, on Saturday, October 4, in Atlanta, GA.
NYU faced two strong teams on day one of UAA Round Robin #1.
In the first match, the Violets faced the Chicago, losing the match 3-1 (26-24, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21).
In its next match, NYU suffered another defeat, this time against Washington, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-17).
"We had really good moments when systems were working," NYU Head Coach
Jolie Ward said. "We were doing what we were supposed to do, but the problem is we weren't doing it at the very end. We had very solid performances by our middle attack and I am feeling better about our blocking."

The Violets will return to Emory tomorrow to face Brandeis University tomorrow at 10:00 am on the second day of UAA competition.
