After capturing the first set, the squad dropped two of the final three sets in extra points.

In their second match of the night, the Violets bounced back in impressive fashion by defeating SUNY Cortland (3-3) by a score of 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 25-10, 25-17).

In a reversal of fortune, the squad managed to sweep the final three sets after dropping a very tight first set.
