Women's Volleyball Tops Hunter

Violets Now 7-1 This Season

The New York University women's volleyball team defeated Hunter College in straight sets on Tuesday, September 10, at the Hunter Sportsplex in Manhattan.

The Violets, now 7-1 this season, got past the Hawks (1-5) by a score of 25-15, 25-22, 25-21.

Thirteen NYU players saw action in the contest as the squad won its fourth straight.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Two players reached double-digit kills for the Violets, with Alexandria Mao recording a match-high 11 and Gigi Morally adding 10.

- Emily Moore (15 assists) and Katie Robinson (14 assists) shared the setting duties.

- The Violets recorded 40 digs, with several players making significant contributions to that total. MaTia Hughes led the way with nine, while Mao had eight and Josie Luck added seven.

- Lucia Stosic led Hunter with 10 kills.

"It was a strong showing by many of our new players," said Head Coach Jolie Ward. "This was a good opportunity to see a lot of them in action."

The Violets return to action this Thursday night at 6:00 pm when they host Baruch College at the Coles Sports Center.
