NYU 86 Poly 41
The New York University men's basketball team defeated NYU-Poly 86-41 on the road in Brooklyn, NY, on Tuesday night, November 26.
NYU was led by an all-around team effort, with 14 players seeing the court and all getting at least seven minutes in the victory. The frontcourt tandem of sophomores
Costis Gontikas and
Evan Kupferberg once again took control for the Violets, scoring 14 and 19 points, respectively. Fellow sophomore big man
Patrick Burns chipped in a season-high 14 points off the bench, as well.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- In addition to his game-high 19 points, Kupferberg also pulled down six rebounds, while Gontikas and Burns each added seven boards.
- Senior captain, guard
Ryan Tana, had another top-notch night as well. He scored 14 points and added three assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
- Jethro Auguste led the attack for the Blue Jays, notching team highs of 13 points and eight rebounds.
The Violets will be back on the court when they return home on Wednesday, December 4, to host the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
