The New York University women's volleyball team honored its seniors with a straight-set win against NYU-Poly on Thursday, October 24, at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan. The first Tear it Up! event of the year presented by Violet Nation was a success as NYU defeated NYU-POLY by the scores of 25-5, 25-15, 25-3.
This was the final women's volleyball contest between these two schools, as NYU-Poly will be fully integrated into New York University at the start of the 2014 fall semester. NYU finishes the rivalry without ever having lost to Poly.
Along with it being the first Violet Nation Tear it Up! event of the year, this was also Senior Night for the home team. NYU honored its four seniors -
Perri Goldberg,
Jenn Korte,
Alexandria Mao and
Hope Bogle - with a pre-game ceremony.
NYU vs. NYU-Poly Highlights:

Allie Williams had a perfect hitting percentage with seven kills on seven attempts
- Mao had a match-high nine kills with zero errors and six service aces
- Bogle led the team with 12 digs

Emily Moore doled out 25 assists
- Seventeen players saw action for NYU. The team hit .895 in the first set and .458 for the match
"It was a great day for our seniors," said NYU Head Coach
Jolie Ward. However, this is not the end for us, we are planning on returning home to host one more tournament match."
The Violets return to action on Saturday, October 26, at the Kean Tri-Meet in Union, NJ. First serve against Richard Stockton College is set for 2:00pm followed by a match vs. the host school at 4:00pm.
