The New York University women's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory in its final non-conference regular-season game of the season on Wednesday, October 23, topping Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, NY.
NYU (7-5-3, 0-2-2 University Athletic Association) was once again led by sophomore forward
Melissa Menta. The reigning UAA Player of the Week had a goal and an assist in the win. Menta now has a team-leading 18 points and seven goals in 2013.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Junior forward
Cami Crawford added a goal, as well. She now has three on the season and is tied for third on the Violets with eight points.
- Freshman goalkeeper
Cassie Steinberg made three saves to record her fourth career victory. She now has two solo shutouts this season.
- NYU outshot the Rams (11-8, 7-0 Skyline Conference) 13-6 in the contest.
The Violets will be off this weekend before resuming to action on Friday, November 1, when they host the University of Chicago for a scheduled 1:30 p.m. kickoff. They will then host Washington University on Sunday, November 3, for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff, as well. Both contests will take place at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.
The matchup with the Bears is Senior Day and Family Day, as well as the second event in the
Violet Nation Presents: Tear it Up!" series.
