The New York University women's volleyball team defeated city rival Hunter College in four sets (25-22, 25-27, 25-6, 25-14) on Wednesday, September 12, at the Coles Sports Center.
The Violets avenge a loss to the Hawks from last season while improving to 4-3 and dropping Hunter to 6-4.

Alexandria Mao recorded her third straight double-double, this time with season highs of 20 kills and 16 digs.

Vera Shulgina followed up her impressive week with another solid performance, recording 16 kills and nine digs.

Hope Bogle doled out a season-high 45 assists.
“It was our ability to keep the serve and eliminate sideouts that helped us shake off a very slow start,” said NYU Head Coach
Jolie Ward. “Our defense played great and that's what kept us in the game.”
The Violets will travel to Rochester, NY, this weekend to compete in the RIT Invitational. Their first match is against St. Lawrence University on Friday, September 14. First serve is set for 5:00 pm.
