The New York University women's soccer team fell 3-0 to visiting Brandeis University in its 2012 regular season finale on Saturday, November 3, at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.

After a trying week following the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Violets (10-7-1, 2-4-1) fell behind early against the Judges (13-4-2, 2-3-2) and could not come back. Prior to the game, the squad honored its three graduating seniors: Monica Arnold, Ashley-Simone McKenzie and Serra Tumay.

Highlights

- Brandeis took the lead just 5:56 in. Dara Spital got free on the left side of the box and placed a shot inside the far right post.

- Spital expanded the Judges' lead in the 25th minute. Mary Shimko played a bouncing ball into the box, which Spital tapped in off the right post.

- NYU sent four shots on target the rest of the first half, including a pair by Tumay, but all were turned away by Francine Kofinas.

- The Violets took seven more shots, four of which were on frame, in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net.

- Brandeis added a goal with just 1.9 seconds left, as Haley Schachter headed in a corner played in by Zoe Siegel.

With the regular season complete, NYU will await to hear its postseason fate on Monday.
