The New York University women's soccer team played 21st-ranked Carnegie Mellon University to a scoreless draw in University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday, October 26, at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY.

Highlights
- After a scoreless 90 minutes, each team had its best chances in overtime. NYU's most dangerous opportunity came in the final seconds of the first extra session.
Serra Tumay sent a corner kick into the box, which was flicked across by
Natalie Beach to
Mary Clair. However, her shot traveled high over the crossbar.
- Carnegie Mellon had a pair of great chances earlier in the first overtime, but both were turned away by
Meg Patten. The sophomore goalkeeper made a diving save on a shot from Louisa Pendergast that was aimed at the left post. She also blocked a point-blank chance from Alex Venegas.
- The game continued an extremely close series between the squads, as only two of the 17 meetings have been decided by more than one goal. The Violets had won the last two against the Tartans coming in.
- Patten finished with three saves in goal to earn her fourth shutout of the season. Anna Albi made two stops for Carnegie Mellon.
NYU returns to the pitch on Sunday, October 28, when it hosts UAA foe Emory University, which will enter the contest ranked #1 in Division III. Kickoff is at 11:00 am at Gaelic Park.
