The New York University women's volleyball team traveled to Galloway, NJ, to compete in two matches on Saturday, October 20. NYU went 1-1 on the day, advancing its overall record to 14-12. 

In its first match, NYU lost a tough four-setter to host Richard Stockton College (24-5) by a score of 25-17, 15-25, 25-14, 25-23. The Violets were almost able to bring the match to a decisive fifth set, but came up just short in the fourth.

NYU had better fortune in the second match of the day, defeating Cabrini College (15-7) in four sets by a score of 25-19, 27-25, 20-25, 25-18. The win ended a string of five straight losses for the Violets and kept them above .500 for the season.

- Alexandria Mao led all players with 16 kills, while hitting .343 and digging six balls.

- The tandem of Hope Bogle and Emily Moore stabilized the Violets offense with a combined 34 assists.

- Kaylee Schanda had a match-high 18 digs.

- Perri Goldberg played well on both sides of the ball with nine kills and eight digs.

- NYU out-attacked Richard Stockton 126-119.

NYU vs. Cabrini College Highlights

- Mao dominated the match with a .372 hitting percentage, seven digs and a match-high 18 kills.

- Goldberg had another impressive match with 15 kills and 10 digs. 

- Vera Shulgina posted a .300 hitting percentage, nine kills and six digs.

- Schanda had a match-high 24 digs.

- Bogle controlled the tempo of the match with 28 assists.

The Violets' next match is on Wednesday, October 24, on the road against city rival Baruch College. First serve is set for 7:00 pm.
