The New York University wrestling team finished in second place at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship, which was hosted by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland on Saturday.

NYU opened the competition with a 21-13 loss to the University of Chicago before defeating host Case Western Reserve 34-15 to place second.

Three NYU grapplers won both of their bouts and earned UAA All-Association Team honors.

Matt Magill (157 pounds) earned two decisions, one by majority (8-0), and took home Most Outstanding Wrestler honors, as well.

Co-captain Naum Shuminov (184 pounds) also recorded two victories, one with his team-leading 18th fall of the season (1:15).

Kyle Christensen (125) was the other NYU wrestler to go undefeated and receive All-UAA accolades, earning wins by decision and forfeit.

NYU now has a dual meet record of 8-7 heading into next Saturday's tri-meet at Morrisville State College.  The University of Scranton will be NYU's other opponent.
