The New York University wrestling team split a pair of dual matches versus McDaniel College and host Wilkes University on Saturday, Nov. 22, in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
After dropping a 24-10 decision to Wilkes, NYU rebounded for a 30-18 victory over McDaniel.
Two NYU sophomore grapplers won both of their bouts on the day. Matt Magill (157 pounds) recorded a technical fall against McDaniel's Matt Peters (4:42) and produced a major decision vs. Wilkes' Richard Sparks (12-1), while Gregg Martino (141 pounds) decisioned both of his opponents.
Senior co-captain Naum Shuminov pinned McDaniel's Courtney Nightengale at 1:47 in a 174-pound bout.
NYU is now 3-2 in dual matches this season, and will return to the mat on Dec. 6 for the Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational in Rochester, NY.
