Johnson & Wales University is making its fifth appearance in the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament and its first since 2002.
The Wildcats finished the season with a 24-12 overall record and an 11-1 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
The squad is led by senior Catherine Bravo, the 2010 GNAC Player of the Year. She was also named the MVP of the GNAC Championship Tournament. For the season, Bravo averaged 2.9 kills, 3.4 set assists and 2.4 digs per set for the Wildcats.
Fellow senior Nikki Balchunas, another All-GNAC selection, is averaging 1.9 kills and 2.45 digs per contest. Senior Emma Anderson rounds out the All-Conference selections for Johnson & Wales, averaging 1.64 kills, 0.9 set assists and 0.7 digs per set.
Freshman Ashley Rey is chipping in with a team-best 4.78 set assists per set while adding 1.02 digs per set for the Wildcats.
