Roger Williams University enters the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season after making its inaugural appearance in 2009. The Hawks earned an automatic bid as the champions of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). The team posted a perfect 10-0 regular-season record before sweeping each of its three playoff matches, 3-0.

With a 29-5 record overall, Roger Williams is just one win shy of tying the program record for most wins in a season, originally set in 1984. Numerous additional records have been established this season, including the program’s highest winning percentage (.853), highest hitting percentage (.240), most kills per set (12.42), and highest regular- season conference finish (1st, 10-0).

Individually, senior co-captain Jill Hurd established a new team record for most digs in a career, currently posting 1,720. Senior co-captain Rebakah Dion established a new Hawks’ record for most career blocks with 398, while moving into second place all-time with 1,083 career kills.

Dion earned TCCC Player of the Year and First Team All-TCCC honors, while Hurd took runner-up TCCC Libero of the Year. Sophomore setter Emily Lebowitz took First Team All-TCCC after earning Rookie of the Year honors last season. Freshman Krystie Luczynski earned this year’s TCCC Rookie of the Year award while also earning First Team All-TCCC honors.

Brittney Sullivan was named TCCC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year, while head coach Bret Stothart was named TCCC Coach of the Year.

Rounding out the honors is sophomore Kelsey Twarog, who earned Second Team All-TCCC status.
