Team Honorees
Three New York University men's volleyball players earned United Volleyball Conference (UVC) All-Academic honors, the league announced on Tuesday, July 11. Additionally, the Violets were recognized as an All-Academic Team for registering an average grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 (3.31).
In order to achieve All-Academic status from the UVC, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.30 (on a 4.00 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.00 scale) or an 82 (on a 100 point scale) during the spring semester. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive conduct on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution.

Andrew Zhu and sophomore
Brendan Duggan were the trio of Violets recognized by the UVC. In 2017, Tan played in a career-high 41 sets. Duggan ranked third on the team with 0.76 blocks per set, while Zhu recorded a career-high 144 kills.
The Violets posted an overall record of 18-10 en route to capturing its first UVC title and making its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. NYU finished the season ranked #7 in the nation by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
