NYU vs. Brandeis
The New York University men's tennis team earned a hard-fought 5-4 victory over University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Brandeis University on Saturday, March 15, in a home match at the Stadium Tennis Center in the Bronx, NY.
The Violets, who are ranked #24 in the nation in the latest
Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll, improved to 3-0 with the win, while the Judges fell to 4-3.
NYU was down by a margin of 2-1 after the completion of doubles play, and later 4-2 before storming back to take the win.
"We were in the same situation, down 2-1 at the end of doubles play, when we played Skidmore," noted Head Coach
Horace Choy. "These guys have demonstrated an ability to come back from a deficit before, and I was confident we would be able to do it today."

Aaron Meltzer was impressive, teaming with senior captain
Steven Wu to earn an 8-5 victory at #1 doubles. In addition, Meltzer produced a three-set, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 victory at #3 singles which was instrumental to the Violets' comeback win.
- Wu added a singles victory himself, a 6-4, 7-5 triumph at #1 singles that knotted thje match 4-4.

CJ Leong and
Sidd Thangirala earned wins at #2 and #4 singles, respectively. Thangirala's win was the match clincher.
"This is one of those matches that was exactly as close as the score indicates," Choy added. "Both teams simply played great, and it was a very fun match to be a part of.
"Brandeis is a very solid team and this is a great win for us, " Choy continued. "This is exactly the high level of play we've come to expect with UAA tennis."
The Violets return to the court on Wednesday, April 2, when they travel to Hoboken, NJ, to face Stevens Institute of Technology. Action is set to get underway at 3:30 pm
