The New York University women's basketball team has started the 2014-15 season 4-0 and is now ranked #13 in the latest D3hoops.com poll and #14 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Division III Top 25 poll, released on Tuesday, November 25. It is the Violets' highest ranking by both organizations since January 25, 2009 when they were 16-1.

After beginning the season ranked #15 adn #17 in the respective preseason polls, NYU reeled off four straight convincing victories en route to Tuesday's ranking. Led by Tournament MVP Megan Dawe, the Violets began their season 2-0 by winning the 2014 NYU Tip-Off title over 2013-14 NCAA Tournament qualifier Plattsburgh State University. NYU followed that with a pair of non-conference victories over the College of Staten Island and Springfield College.

NYU is joined by two other University Athletic Association (UAA) squads in this week's polls. Washington University-St. Louis is ranked #8 by D3hoops.com and is tied for seventh by USA Today, while the University of Rochester is receiving votes in both.

The Violets will be back in action tonight, Tuesday, when they travel to Patchogue, NY, to face St. Joseph's College-LI. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm and live stats will be available.
