Team ResultsEvent ResultsNew York University's men's swimming & diving team was victorious at the University of Rochester Invitational, which was held on Friday and Saturday, October 24-25, in Rochester, NY.
NYU defeated University Athletic Association (UAA) rivals Brandeis University (294-62)
and host Rochester (275.5-85.5), as well as Division I Canisius College (238-131).
After winning the one-meter competition (305.55) on day one, senior diver
Austen Blease placed third in the three-meter competition (296.90) on Satrurday, recording NCAA-qualifying scores in both events.
"Another NCAA qualifying score for Austen," said Diving Coach
Scott Donie. "This officially qualifies him for the NCAA regional meet."
HIGHLIGHTS:- Senior co-captain
Jerry Crowley recorded one NCAA B-cut time on day one. He recorded three more on the second day of competition when he won the 50-yard freestyle (20.71), the 100-yard freestyle (45.64) and the 100-yard butterfly (49.92). Crowley also broke the Rochester pool record for the 100-yard freestyle, which was previously set at 46.08 during the 2013-14 season.
- Freshmen did especially well in the quad meet.
Tim Kou won the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.03),
Adam Betts won the 100-yard backstroke (53.40), and
Austin Palmer won the 500-yard freestyle (4:46.20) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:15.50).

Matt Kendall finished first in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.92) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.41).
"I think we swam very well for an early season, two-day meet," said Head Coach
Trevor Miele. "We still have a lot of hard training ahead of us, but I think we have gotten off to a great start and I am looking forward to seeing how we swim when we rest."
The Violets will host their next competition against Vassar College at the Palladium Athletic Facility in Manhattan on Saturday, November 1, beginning at 1:00 pm.
