ECAC ReleasePhebe Miller of the New York University women's soccer team was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, October 1.
The senior co-captain anchored a Violets' backline that allowed just two shots on goal during NYU's 5-1 victory over DeSales University on Saturday, September 27, in Center Valley, PA.
In addition, Miller notched three points (a goal and an assist) in the win vs. the Bulldogs, helping the Violets improve to 5-3 at the time.
This is the first-ever weekly award for the Mill Valley, CA, native.
Miller and the rest of the Violets will be back in action this Saturday, October 4, when they open up University Athletic Association (UAA) play against the University of Rochester at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 pm following the completion of the men's game vs. Rochester, which begins at 11:00 am.
