Kupferberg Earns UAA Athlete of the Week Honors

Sophomore Posts Two Straight Double-Doubles

Kupferberg leads NYU with 18.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Evan Kupferberg of the New York University men's basketball team was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday, December 9.

The sophomore posted double-doubles in both of NYU's contests this past week en route to earning his first-ever weekly honor from the UAA.

The Boca Raton, FL, native began the week by notching two career-highs (22 points and 17 rebounds) to lead the Violets to a 77-67 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan on Wednesday, December 4.

The 6-foot-6 forward followed that up with another double-double, his second straight and third of the season, scoring 20 points with 12 rebounds in the Violets' 64-61 win over York College (NY) at Coles on Sunday, December 8.

Kupferberg and the rest of the Violets will be back in action when they make the short trip across the Hudson River to Hoboken, NJ, on Tuesday, December 10. NYU is scheduled to tip off with Stevens Institute of Technology at 7:00 pm.
