Kupferberg Named to D3Hoops.com Team of the Week

Earns Second Weekly Award for Back-to-Back Double-Doubles

Evan Kupferberg of the New York University men's basketball team was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week on Thursday, December 12. The sophomore earned the honor after his performances during the week of December 2-8.

The 6-foot-6 forward posted double-doubles in both of NYU's contests last week, en route to earning his first-ever D3Hoops weekly honor. The award comes just days after Kupferberg earned his first-ever University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week Award as well.

The Boca Raton, FL, native began last week by notching three career-highs (22 points, 17 rebounds, and four blocks) to lead the Violets to a 77-67 victory over the United States Merchant Marine Academy at the Coles Sports Center in Manhattan on Wednesday, December 4.

Kupferberg followed that up with another double-double, his second straight and third of the season, scoring 20 points with 12 rebounds in the Violets' 64-61 win over York College (NY) at Coles on Sunday, December 8.

Kupferberg and the rest of the Violets will take some time off for the holiday break before resuming their season at home on Monday, December 30. NYU will play host to Immaculata University with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 pm.
