RESULTS

The New York University wrestling team placed fourth at the Ithaca College Invitational in Ithaca, NY, this weekend, competing on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9.

Below are the full team standings:

3. Springfield College - 159
4. NYU - 135.5
5. SUNY-Oswego - 93
6. Norwich University - 82.5
7. Alfred State College - 33
8. SUNY Sullivan - 18

Individually, the team had three wrestlers advance all the way to their respective finals matches. In addition, three NYU grapplers battled for third place in their respective weight classes.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Corbin Lee (133 pounds), DJ Albonico (149) and Patrick Sheehan (184) all placed second in their respective weight classes, each advancing all the way to the finals.

- Richy Cruz (141), Matt DiGiovanni (157) and Dan Brereton (197) all competed in their respective third-place matches, with DiGiovanni and Brereton emerging victorious.

- Nicholas Matthews (141) and Brian Anderson (174) each placed fifth in their respective weight classes, as well.

- Dylan Lojac (157) and John Messinger (165) each placed sixth in their weight classes.

NYU will be back on the mat for the Metro vs. PA Duals at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on Saturday, November 16. The team is scheduled to compete against Elizabethtown College at 12:00 pm, Wilkes University at 2:00 pm and host King's at 4:00 pm.
