Spencer Freedman of New York University's
13th-ranked men's basketball team received weekly awards at the conference, national and regional levels after his stellar performances to lead the Violets to a pair of University Athletic Association (UAA) wins over the weekend.

The graduate student's late-game heroics led men's basketball to a pair of UAA victories at home on Friday and Sunday. He had 20 points, five assists, three rebounds and a steal against WashU while scoring all of the Violets' final 13 points and hitting the game-winning three-pointer with 36 seconds left.
Then, against Chicago, he totaled 31 points, eight rebounds, six assists and a steal. Freedman hit consecutive layups with 51 seconds and 11 seconds remaining to tie the game and sent it into overtime, before scoring 13 of his 31 points in the extra period and going 6-of-6 at the line in the final minute to secure victory.
Freedman currently ranks third in Division III and leads the UAA in assists per game (6.0) while ranking second in the Association in three-point percentage (44.4).
The men's basketball team is back in action this Friday, January 26, against University of Rochester at the John A. Paulson Center in Manhattan.
