The Violets' top finisher was
Dylan Karten, who placed second in the 3,000 meters with a career-best time of 8:37.26.
NYU also had a solid performance in the 5,000 meters, as David Knowles took fifth place withe a season-best time of 15:15.76.

All-American
Daniel McKinney had a ninth-place showing in the 400 meters (50.67).
"Simon ran a great race for us against some guys who are big-time Division I runners," said NYU head coach Nick McDonough. "I felt that Dan also ran pretty well considering it was the first time he had run in an open race all season."
In addition to some impressive individual performances, the Violets' relay teams also had a pretty good showing.
"I was pleased by the way our distance medley team ran.
Andrew Zitek really anchored us down the stretch" said McDonough.
That team also included
Matt Turlip,
James Patterson and
Zac Kish. The foursome finished third in a time of 10:18.82.
"Overall, we had on okay meet, but we are also in the middle of a very tough training period," McDonough explained. "I thought we ran pretty well across the board and are just starting to round into shape. We will use this performance as a springboard going into the second half of the season."
The Violets return to action next weekend with several team members competing on Friday, February 3, at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the New Balance Track and Field Center, while others will be at Haverford College on Saturday, Feb. 4.
